Microsoft Windows 8 Officially Launched in Malaysia


Just days after the regional launch of Windows 8 in Singapore, Microsoft officially launched its new OS in Malaysia at Plaza Low Yat where Ananth Lazarus, Managing Director of Microsoft Malaysia, was present to express what the launch of Windows 8 will mean to Malaysians.

“With the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft is unveiling a reimagined Windows to the world. Whether you want a tablet or a PC, whether you want to consume or create content, whether you want to work or play – Windows 8 delivers a no-compromise immersive personalized experience that fits your unique style and needs,” commented Ananth.

Encouraging the localization of Windows 8, Microsoft also announced that in addition to the many apps already available on the Windows Store for download, several local apps have already been made available to coincide with the launch, including apps like The Star Online, MYDIN, AirAsia, DiGi and Sunway Lifestyle.
Also local celebrities Noh Salleh (better known as Noh from the Local Band Hujan) and Mizz Nina have announced their collaboration with Microsoft for an online project called Passion8. Passion8 will be aired on 8TV over 8 weeks and will follow both Noh and Mizz Nina as they use technology as a platform to engage with their fans on their respective passion – fashion for Mizz Nina and music for Noh.
