GIGABYTE has recently announced the GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II overclocking competition, which is being hosted on HWBOT.org from September 1 through September 30, 2012. The competition, which combines two exciting stages based on classic 3DMark01 and SuperPi 31M benchmarks, will give participants a chance to compete for the new GIGABYTE Z77X motherboards.

The first prize of the GIGABYTE Classic Challenge II: GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7
For the first stage, which is based on 3DMark 01, overclockers will have to use all of their tweaking ingenuity to come out on top. In this "Low Clock Challenge", contestants must limit the CPU frequency of any Z77 GIGABYTE motherboard to 5GHz, as well as restrict the Nature 3DMark 01 subtest to a maximum of 1340FPS. This is then followed by the "Straight Up and All Out" stage, which is based on the classic SuperPi 32M benchmark, where participants simply need submit the fastest times using a GIGABYTE Z77 on a compatible CPU.
There are limitations, however, as entrants must use the official competition background for all screenshots. Verification screenshots submitted for the competition must include the 3DMark 01/SuperPi 32M score, as well as the CPU-Z CPU/MEM/Mainboard tab. An image of the rig must also be attached to all submissions, which fall under usual HWBOT submission and verification rules.
Prizes up for grabs include a GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7 for first place, GIGABYTE Z77X-UP5 TH for second place and a GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7, which will be given at random via a lucky draw. Anybody who joins the competition is eligible to win the lucky draw prize. Multiple submissions are allowed and eligible for the draw.
